About me

Hello, I’m Tiago Lubiana and this is my web page, welcome!

I’m currently a PhD student at the University of São Paulo, working with Wikidata and the ontological modelling of concepts related to cell types.

One way of knowing more about what I have been doing is via the Scholia profile about me, auto-generated from Wikidata.

I’m currently based at the Computational Systems Biology Laboratory.

I recently start contributing to the International Society of Biocuration Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committe. I also try and contribute to the Cell Ontology, promote a Telegram group for connecting Brazilian bioinformaticians (https://t.me/codigobonito) and help organize a recurrent metascience hackathon, the No-Budget Science Hack Week. I also host an YouTube interview series where I invite people (usually scientists) to talk about life and edit Wikipedia, WikiConvida (in portuguese). I’m also a Research Scholar at the Ronin Institute, a virtual organization for independent researchers, and a member of WikiMovimento Brasil, an NGO supporting local activities related to Wikimedia.

Currently my main project (besides the PhD) is to try and find ways to engage in less stuff and take time to enjoy life in other ways.

This site is (forever) under construction, so you might find a few bugs here and there. I apologize in advance.

Oh, consider everything I write, photograph, or hold the rights in any other way automatically in CC0 (Public Domain) unless otherwise specified.

Organized info

Maybe I directed you here for info to use on advertisement and online promotion materials. If that is the case, first of all: sorry for the mess. Secondly, here is the info you might be looking for. Feel free to change it in any way you see fit:

Short Bio:

I’m a PhD student at the University of São Paulo, working with Wikidata and the ontological modelling of concepts related to cell types under a FAPESP scholarship. After doing internships in 10 different labs in Brazil and overseas, I found peace in computational biology. I’m also a Research Scholar at the Ronin Institute, a virtual organization for independent researchers, and a member of WikiMovimento Brasil, an NGO supporting local activities related to Wikimedia. I believe in open knowledge as a tool for happier lives on Earth, and I am joyful to work on that front.
